3 Indicators Your Heavy-Duty Truck Needs Clutch Repair Immediately

Clutches in your heavy-duty truck are used to send rotational power from the engine to the gearbox and out to the wheels. To stop the driveshaft from spinning, clutches function by cutting off the power from the engine to the gearbox. If you don't have one, the only method to stop your heavy-duty truck's engine from spinning the wheels is to switch it off. Clutches let both manual and automated gearboxes maintain continuous gear changes. Having said that, driving a heavy-duty truck with a bad clutch is very difficult, if not impossible. 1. Clutch pedal is difficult to press

On the floor, to the left of the brake pedal, is your clutch pedal. The hydraulic coupling that the clutch relies on may have failed if you notice that it becomes difficult to depress the pedal or if it appears to stick to the floor. A simple tweak may be the answer, but there's also a chance that a hydraulic fluid leak is to blame for the system's low pressure. If such were the case, the clutch would need to be completely replaced.

2. Slippery clutch 

The clutch plate is probably worn out and has to be replaced if your heavy-duty truck suddenly shifts out of gear. A trickle of oil into the clutch plate, which results in excessive lubrication and clutch slippage, is another common reason for this.

3. Burning odor coming out of the clutch 

Does your heavy-duty truck smell of burning paper when you drive it? Your heavy-duty truck may require a clutch adjustment if any smoke is present along with the offensive odor.
